GreenFields Earns Distinctive Honor

For the second and sixth consecutive times respectively, GreenFields of Geneva and Friendship Village of Schaumburg have earned five-year accreditations from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). The prestigious recognition is the result of a very rigorous survey process, awarded to only 15% of the retirement communities nationwide. This makes the two communities, both of which are operated by Friendship Senior Options, part of a very elite group.

In 1992, Friendship Village became the first retirement community in Illinois to earn CARF accreditation. GreenFields, which opened its doors six years ago, was the youngest community to have become CARF accredited, five years ago.

Undergoing the accreditation process is completely voluntary and reflects the communities’ commitment to providing excellent service conforming to more than 1,200 strict standards. “Accreditation reflects Friendship Senior Options’ vision of providing exemplary senior-centered services through collaborative innovation, perseverance and growth, while upholding an exceptionally high standard of excellence,” said Patricia Mash, vice president of planning and marketing.
