Friendship Senior Options Transfers GreenFields to Lifespace Communities Family

We are excited to announce that Lifespace Communities has agreed to transfer the management of GreenFields of Geneva from Friendship Senior Options (FSO). The 11-year-old luxury life plan community in the Mill Creek subdivision of Geneva, IL, was developed and managed by FSO. A staff of 146 team members serves more than 200 seniors in GreenFields’ independent, assisted, memory care and skilled levels neighbors.

According to Mike Flynn, CEO of FSO, “We are transitioning GreenFields to an organization with a long history of exceptional care and service for residents and team members alike. Lifespace is an established and robust not-for-profit senior living system that will support and grow the community over the long term. I’m excited for residents and team members that new opportunities will be available to them and that the same core principles and values that guided GreenFields for almost a dozen years will guide the next several dozen more with Lifespace’s leadership and aligned philosophies.”

The like-mindedness of the two organizations is not surprising. In 1977, Friendship Village was built and operated by the original Lifespace organization, Life Care Services. Lifespace now owns and manages 18 communities in seven states including two non-profit life plan communities in west suburban Chicago: Beacon Hill in Lombard and Oak Trace in Downers Grove.

Nestled on 26 beautifully landscaped acres bordering two championship golf courses, GreenFields includes walking paths, a fishing pond visited by mallard ducks and Sandhill cranes, and a 3.5-acre native prairie. In addition, GreenFields is a vibrant community and is an integral part of the wider Geneva area, co-sponsoring events to benefit the community and solidify the bonds between area businesses and GreenFields.

For example, late last year GreenFields introduced its Gems of Geneva program . Celebrating its unique businesses, organizations and artisans, GreenFields hosts Geneva purveyors of food, beverages, art, and clothing on-site for our residents to enjoy.

FSO will maintain a six-month contract to manage GreenFields during the transition of departments and systems to Lifespace Communities in June 2023.
